  • Avtex is a leading provider of integrated customer experience technology solutions
  • The Company offers a full suite of services ranging from strategic consulting to technical deployment and integration services with deep capabilities in solutions around contact center, portal, CRM, and unified communications, among others, to improve the customer interactions that its clients have with their customers and employees
  • We sourced the opportunity through a relationship with a Minneapolis-based boutique investment bank
  • We succeeded in signing up the deal because of our fit with management and understanding of their business model due to our tech-enabled services experience

Investment Thesis/RAMP Value Creation Plan:

  • Execute a two-pronged organic and acquisition program to significantly scale the business and increase the breadth and depth of the Company’s capabilities to create a clear thought leader in the Consumer Experience (CX) industry
  • We backed management to deploy additional resources and invest in technology serving the rapidly growing CX industry to provide integrated contact solutions to customers
  • We leveraged our industry knowledge and proprietary sourcing capabilities to execute a buy-and-build strategy, purchasing five businesses in the first three years of our ownership to migrate from product orientation toward recurring revenue maintenance, hosting, and consulting services
  • The add-on acquisitions and strategic growth initiatives diversified the technology offering beyond Interactive Intelligence (formerly NASDAQ: ININ) to include Microsoft Dynamics
  • We also implemented a revised go-to-market strategy and organizational realignment, eliminating several small business lines and improving utilization rates to streamline the organization and accelerate organic growth
  • The Company is now a national leader in customer experience technology solutions for small and mid-sized companies and is growing rapidly

  • We successfully sold Avtex to a financial sponsor in Q1 2018
